A couple of brilliant engineers designed this wonderful machine. A water purification unit. It works so well, that if you pumped water that was contaminated with... say... oil, jet fuel, and solvent into the unit, you'd get back pure water, pure oil, pure jetfuel and pure solvent. Each element mechanically separated and ready to be re-used. Pretty neat huh?

The inventors handed me some blueprints and allowed me to take pics of their prototype. Based on those, I put together a pre-build mock-up of the model out of styrofoam and cardboard. Once that was approved, I built the actual model out of mostly stock styrene plastic. Every part of this model was scratch-built except for the main trailer wheels...those having been liberated from one of my sons toy trucks. You can see the pre-build comp next to the final model in a couple of the pics above. The completed model was built to the scale of 1"= 1'.
